Halfway Through My 100 Days Posting Challenge
About a month ago, I quietly started an unannounced 100-day posting challenge on Instagram. Monday marks Day 50, halfway through and I thought it’s the perfect time to share a few lessons I’ve picked up along the way.
When I started, there was no proper plan. All I knew was that I wanted to talk about branding. At first, I struggled. Creating daily content from scratch quickly became overwhelming. Then I found a hack; batch creating.
At first, that worked too, but I still missed a few days. So I refined my system: one day to brainstorm all my topics, another day to write, and another to design. That structure gave me breathing room.
Now, here’s the part I had to humble myself to learn. As a designer, I wanted everything to look perfect aesthetically pleasing, polished, scroll-stopping. But that slowed me down and, worse, made me post less. So, I simplified. I stuck to a clean template: just text, no photos. It might not be the most “Instagram-perfect” for my audience yet, but it helped me break free from the restraint of perfectionism.
And here’s the magic once I broke that barrier, posting became part of me. Ideas started flowing naturally. I finally understood why people say, “Just start.” The real restraint isn’t lack of ideas or tools it’s overthinking. Once you start, clarity comes along the way.
Now that I’ve built the culture of posting, I can experiment with aesthetics, try new formats, and refine toward the results I want. I’m not there yet, but I’m making steady progress.
Halfway in, here’s my biggest takeaway:
progress > perfection.
